Position Overview: The Cyber Security Protection Team Lead is responsible for managing project deliverables, timelines, and team members in order to meet customer objectives. This position oversees integrating end point solutions and cyber security platforms and their procedures,The team analyzes available security information including vendor updates, platform management, agent deployments, applying IDS signatures, reporting results of configuration compliance scans, vulnerability assessments, responding to field reports, OIG reports, and intelligence information to assess enterprise network security. The successful candidate is expected to mentor junior members of the team, provide a strong technical presence, manage deadlines, and project plans. Daily Responsibilities: Manage all development, maintenance and operational tasks Develop and maintain Cyber Protection functions, consisting of enterprise integration of end point management and operational scanning tasks Assess and enhance current processes for developing, maintaining and executing enterprise security scanning and reporting Recommend solutions ranging from strategically deploying network sensors to scanning solutions for new scanning initiatives Develop all processes, policies and operational procedures Maintains active liaison with other departments and external government agencies relating to situational awareness within CIRT operations Serve as primary point of contact for all matters relating to Cyber Protection Provide mentoring to team members Interface with vendor support teams to keep abreast of developments in product lines Evaluate, test, and configure security products Perform liaison activities with other bureaus and offices Analyze available security information including impact of vendor software system updates, configuration compliance verification, vulnerability assessment, database assessments, security and system patch information, field reports, OIG reports, and intelligence information to assess the status of remote organization's cyber security posture Cultivate relationships with other bureau's, offices, and organizations to help find partners for current and new projects. Successful candidate must possess the ability to articulate complex technical details into data targeted to upper management. Provide feedback on proposed solutions from both a technical and managerial perspective. Candidate must be able to balance the technical and managerial roles.
