GDIT is seeking a strong SQL & SSRS Developer to design, develop, revise and maintain a wide variety of custom SSRS reports. The Developer will work as part of a team and utilize agile best practices and coding standards while completing project tasks including coding, testing, designing and deploying SSRS reports. The developer may also be involved in coding tasks for .NET applications using C#. The applicant must have excellent communication skills. Responsibilities Monitoring and optimizing the performance of the databases Utilize SSIS, SSRS. SQL and occasionally JIRA to produce accurate, timely results in response to complex, time-bound problems. Design, build, and implement reporting solutions which meet user requirements. Maintain and support existing reports, reporting tools, and reporting libraries. Follow prescribed software development standards, processes, procedures, methodologies, etc., according to departmental policies and conventions. Create and maintain technical documentation. Assist developers with database changes Interact and correspond professionally with team members, project management, clients, and other stakeholders. Report any security vulnerabilities encountered Account for and accurately log time against project work. Work with Testers to transfer knowledge and ensure adequate test coverage Analyze and resolve current Production application issues Participate in design and code reviews Occasionally work with application developers on application development tasks and data migration tasks. Manage source code using Subversion and Git. Suggest business process improvements while working through solution design Working in an agile environment with daily scrums. Required: Bachelor's degree in a technical field (e.g., Computer Science, Engineering or related discipline) + 2-5 years' experience. Experience in the design and development of reports needed for the enterprise, including operational and administrative managers and decision makers, utilizing various reporting tools, specifically SQL Reporting Services At least 2-4 years of experience working with SQL Server (e.g., Procedures, Views, Functions) and BI tools such as Microsoft SQL Server Reporting Services (2008 R2 or higher) Strong understanding of database design concepts such as normalization and column indexing (MS SQL Server preferred. Oracle, MySQL, etc. are acceptable) Strong Relational Database knowledge, specifically DB design and normalization A comprehensive knowledge of T-SQL for development and processing of data in and out of SQL databases Strong demonstrated analytic techniques, including demonstrated ability to perform query tuning Experience defining requirements and architecting, designing, implementing, testing, and deploying solutions Experience with Microsoft Visual Studio Experience with Jira, Fisheye, and Confluence (Atlassian Suite), Jenkins and other CI/CD tools. Experience working with source control repositories such as Subversion & Git. Experience with Agile/SCRUM Preferred: Experience constructing web applications using C# .NET Understanding of cloud computing concepts Experienceworking withSource Control (planning, merging, patching) Any current Microsoft Certifications are a plus We are GDIT.
