Technical Editor, Mid
Key Role:

Analyze and evaluate products through providing technical, editorial support and ensure administrative and production on requirements associated with military capabilities, capacity, readiness, military policy, strategy and doctrine, and their operating environments are met. Read and evaluate intelligence products and ensure DoD tradecraft standards are met. Identify inconsistencies of thought, development, or organization. Confer with authors to recommend the treatment of the material. Perform reorganizations, cuts, or rewrites, as needed, and edit copy.

Basic Qualifications:
  • Experience with writing and editing project products per established government standards for DoD audiences, including proofreading drafts and final documents
  • Experience with Microsoft Office, including using Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, and Outlook
  • Ability to proofread for grammar and punctuation with a high level of accuracy
  • Active TS/SCI clearance; willingness to take a polygraph exam
  • HS diploma or GED and 6+ years of experience with writing or editing, AA or AS degree and 4+ years of experience with writing or editing, or BA or BS degree and 1+ years of experience with writing or editing

Additional Qualifications:
  • Knowledge of DoD intelligence editing standards and styles
  • Knowledge of Community Authorized Classification and Control Markings (CAPCO)
  • Ability to manage multiple publication projects and work effectively and efficiently in a diverse, fast-paced team environment
  • TS/SCI clearance with a polygraph
